Straight out of high school, I started working at a machine shop. This was completely different than CRT machining, I was exposed to CRT by my dad who is a current employee. I started in the Clean Line 17 years ago, the GM at the time encouraged me to apply for the open machinist position. They taught me everything I know, back then it was just a job, now it has become my career. I have mastered our number 1 program, the CFM-LPT Cases, and I feel very confident in my work. I received a lot of help from the old timers, they passed off words of advice and were overall a great figure to my development.
In this industry, be prepared to work. There is plenty to learn, and areas to grow yourself in and out of your department. Don’t be discouraged or intimidated by the production atmosphere. There is so much opportunity at CRT. This company has taken care of me for the last 17 years, almost like a family. Even as a kid, with my dad working here, I loved CRT. We would go to the company picnics, and I would be so excited.

I started working at CRT in the Clean line department as a power washer. I began expediting for the department, and worked closely with the schedule and helped organize the flow of work that came in and out of the department. I made an internal move to the scheduling department, where I was for 5 years.  I was exposed to other aspects of the company, I learned the parts, repairs we do, the leadership teams and processes. I developed an ownership mentality; I began to love everything about CRT and what we do.
Eventually a leadership role as a production supervisor opened, and this was the next step in my career at CRT. I am using all my knowledge, from every department everyday, while I continue to learn and grow. I am now working to become inspection certified. At CRT you truly control your own “destiny.” Maintain a positive attitude and always look to better yourself and team. Great opportunities await employees who put in the effort to get there!

I’ve never worked in the Aviation Repair Industry before; do I have the required skills to be a part of the aerospace industry?

We understand Aviation can be intimidating; however, many of our employees come from a variety of backgrounds that do not involve aerospace such as autobody repair, restaurants, retail, and manufacturing. We offer on the job training for all shifts and will provide you with all the tools to be successful in aerospace. 

I think I have an applicable skillset for the role, but I am unsure? 

CRT will help you assess if your skillset is applicable for the role. Many of our employees come from a variety of backgrounds and their applicable skillset provides a great foundation for roles. Please remember we have on the job training at all levels and will provide you with all the tools to be successful in aerospace.

What does the interview process look like? 

1. Phone Screen with one of our dedicated recruiters.
2. If applicable, an online assessment will be administered.
3. Facility visit and onsite interview with the hiring team.
4. Feedback is collected/reviewed, and your recruiter will contact you with next steps.
5. If a contingent offer is extended, you will begin the pre-employment process.

Where is CRT located and where should I park for my interview? 

8507 Tyler Blvd in Mentor, Ohio. Close to the corner of Center Street and Tyler. Approximately 30 minutes East of Cleveland, Ohio.
Please park in the front of the front of the building in the visitor parking. Upon arrival, wait in the front lobby for one of our recruiters to meet you.
